Cape Le Grand National Park is located 50 kms east of Esperance by sealed road (or a 22km beach drive) and features spectacular coastal scenery – white sandy beaches, gorgeous turquoise waters that have to be seen to be believed, and rocky headlands. Massive outcrops of rock form a “chain of peaks” which include Mt Le Grand (345m), Frenchman Peak (262m) and Mississippi Hill (180m).
There are many opportunities for bushwalking in the park. The ascent of Frenchman Peak is perfect for anyone with a good level of fitness. The climb to the top is short (takes about 30 minutes) but incredibly steep, and the views are definitely rewarding from the top.
